I have never fished dry flies before unless you count the odd Daddy Long Legs chucked out on the reservoir as I ate lunch (unsurprisingly consistantly unsuccessful)
I am therefore just going to pick a few patterns I like the look of from https://theflyshop.co.uk and go with them as I do like their patterns and they do seem to know what they are on about
In no particular order
Black Gazza Special
Claret Bobs Bits
Cripple Midge Black
Fiery Brown Bobs Bits
Gazza Special Hares Ear Shuttlecock
Amber Hopper
Big Red
These are by far my most tentative choices and I will need to learn to persevere with them to gain confidence or make the decision to abandon dry flies but given my views on depth being the most important factor then I think I am going to have to learn to persevere.
Getting really excited now about the new season and whilst getting time in March may be difficult I am really hoping to be able to get a reasonable amount of time in from April onwards
